What's new in UniNote
UniNote is built and looked after by one student developer. Every update is listed here, newest first.
Checking the AI features…
Version running now: checking…
Your notes are always yours to take with you: Settings → Your notes → Download all my notes.
- AI writes in your language. A new setting, AI writes in (Settings, and in Notes from slides): automatic, which follows the language of your slides or notes, or one of English, Latviešu, Lietuvių, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Polski, Nederlands and Português. Notes from slides, Teach me, practice exams and the assistant all follow it, headings and labels included. Code, formulas and numbers stay exactly as they are.
- Fixed: notes from slides in another language sometimes came back in English.
- Translate. Highlight notes and translate them into any of those languages, layout and maths kept.
- Import notes. Bring your notes from Notion, Word, Google Docs, OneNote (as Word), Obsidian, Markdown or text files, and PDFs from GoodNotes or Notability (each page as a picture). Check what was found, rename or untick anything, and choose the class. Read on your device, free, no AI. In Settings → Your notes, or New lecture or class.
- The free week is back for new accounts: every AI feature except Exam prep for 7 days, no card needed.
- A new look for UniNote's logo: the U and N in our serif type, joined by the red margin line of a notebook page. New app icons, browser icons and link previews to match.
- Teach me. Pick lectures and a length (about 5, 15 or 30 minutes) and get a lesson that explains each topic from the start, checks you've understood it before moving on, and explains it another way if not. Ask about anything as you go. At the end you explain it back in your own words and see which sections to review.
- Practice exam results have a "Teach me this" button for the topics you scored lowest on.
- The sign-in page shows Teach me at work, and the welcome tour for new students includes it.
- Download all my notes. In Settings, one button gives you every class and lecture as Markdown files with your photos, plus all your data, in one .zip.
- Deleting your account now removes every photo or, if that fails, nothing at all, so you can simply try again. Nothing is left behind.
- This page: a list of every update, the version running now and whether the AI features are working normally.
- Corrected: exam prep gives 5× the usual AI for 3 days. It always has; the page wrongly said 10×.
- Clearer wording on what is sent to the AI, how practice exams are marked, and when numbers in notes are computed by code.
- A new sign-in page with short videos of the app at work: slides to notes, highlight and ask, practice exams.
- The sign-in page fits phones and tablets better, and its links are easier to tap.
- Practice exams. Pick the lectures, a level and up to 50 questions, take it against the clock, then see your score by lecture and what to work on.
- Sign in with GitHub as well as Google.
- The privacy policy and terms were updated to cover the new sign-in options.
- Homework and exams calendar, with an Upcoming box on the home screen.
- A short welcome for new accounts: what UniNote does, how it works and choosing a username.
- Report a problem straight from Settings; it goes to the developer.
- The privacy policy and terms were rewritten in plain words.
- Notes from slides reads long lecture decks more reliably.
- Notes from slides for lectures: pictures and tables kept, the slide's own questions answered, key takeaways at the end, and a note wherever a slide and the calculation disagree.
- Settings shows how much of today's AI allowance you've used and when it resets.
- AI features are part of Monthly (€2.99) and Lifetime (€29.99). Your notes stay free.
- Long slide runs no longer sign you out halfway.
- Problem sheets: upload a PDF and get worked answers, with every number read from your sheet or computed by code and shown so you can check it.
